2009 Fast Track Course Underway
Sunday 09 August 2009
The 2009 PGED Fast Track commenced in July and will continue until mid-October. Students on the course come from across the Country and represent a wide ranging cross section of universities. During the opening address Principal, Adrian Mason congratulated one and all on choosing the legal executive route to full time lawyer status. By doing so, he said 'showed that they were prepared to reject traditionalism and follow the common sense route to qualification in the new post Legal Services Act era.'The fact that there is very little distinction between solicitors and legal executives nowadays then it no longer makes sense to spend all that money on the LPC especially if someone doesn't actually have a training contract ' he added.
The college will be promoting next year's programme with universities and will be stressing the importance of the legal executive route to qualification. For a fraction of the time and cost, law graduates will be able to train the legal executive way, unencumbered by training contracts and and excessive fees charged by LPC providers. In the new world, legal executives have similar opportunities to their solicitor colleagues but it is still a fact that many universities fail to offer their students an informed choice as to their options after their degree is over.
