Redress & Patient Safety Conference Assists Consultation Wednesday 10 March 2010
The recent Redress & Patient Safety in the NHS in Wales Conference held by Advance CPD and Bangor University's School of Healthcare Sciences, contributed to the Consultation process confirmed Pat Vernon, Head of Patient Safety Team, Welsh Assembly Government. The Conference, held at the SWALEC Stadium on March 2nd. and at Bangor University on March 8th. was attended by legal and healthcare stakeholders from throughout Wales and some from over the border in England. A host of eminent speakers contributed to the debate which in some instances was the catalyst for some lively debate amongst delegates. Advance Principal, Adrian Mason said 'it is fair to say that the Conferences produced its fair level of critique which was useful for the Welsh Assembly Government officials in attendance.'
Advance CPD and Bangor University are grateful for the contribution of our speakers and to the delegates who made the two days eventful and worthwhile. Questions raised by attendees are currently being collated and will be sent to WAG shortly.
It is Advance's continuing intention to specialise in providing CPD for Wales and Welsh practitioners as the Principality has been less than well served in this area over the years. The Government of Wales Act 2006 will mean that the provision of Welsh events for Welsh practitioners is essential in the future.
